BARTIE [andrzej bikowski] BARTIE - real name Andrzej Bikowski is 30-something Polish designer. He holds a Master Degree in Industrial Design but his main focus is on shoes. He started to sketch them when he was 14th. By stubbornness or maybe luck bartie managed to convert his passion into profession. He had a chance to work as freelance footwear designer for brands like asics, avia, or gino rossi. For 5 years at adidas headquarter he was working in running category within an integrated team of design, development and marketing. He is passionate about creating and designing shoes that are functional, innovative and sometimes even beautiful. Strong biomechanic knowledge helps him to push the boundaries and create new constructions when working with athletic shoes. Ars Sutoria school gave him a deep understanding of construction, materials and shoe making process. Besides designing shoes bartie is a happy father, makes black&white photographs and even run marathons. Currently based in Nurnberg, Germany. Summary of work in RESUME section.
